Swedish’s Online music streaming site Spotify has more than three million paid subscribers, A Spotify executive has confirmed. Spotify’s Chief Content Officer has stated 20% of the users paying customers rather than using ad provided version. Back In November 2010 Spotify revealed that it has more than 2.5 million paid customers, the latest numbers reveal that Spotify has added 500,000 paying customers in just two months. Currently Spotify’s service is available in more than 10 countries including the addition of Denmark and Austria.
Speaking with Financial Times, Spotify’s chief content officer and US managing director, Ken Parks said, “We have an enormous internal effort to drive conversion and engagement with the service. We are very focused on growing in our existing 1e markets as well as expanding in other markets.” In UK, Spotify is now facing stiff competition from emerging streaming services such Pure Music.
