Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook Visits Foxconn Factory In China

Cupertino based Apple Inc has been criticised lately regarding pay and working conditions in Foxconn facilites in China. The firm has taken necessary actions to address concerns, publishing reports in the past surrounding conditions in the factories. Mr.Cook is currently in a tour in China, and has paid a visit to a Foxconn factory. Cook visited a factory in Zhengzhou. In an Image provided to Reuters by Apple Inc. The Zhengzhou facility accommodates more than 120,000 people to assemble Apple’s iPhone.

It comes after recent conference with Chinese authorities reportedly  in an effort to expand Apple’s factory facilities throughout China. Tim Cook had “great meetings” with officials, and that “China is very important to us and we look forward to even greater investment and growth here” Apple Spokesperson said. It’s still unclear how much longer Tim Cook will be in China for, or what his agenda in the country will be going forward. In June of the same year, and after several suicides, Foxconn installed suicide nets to factory living-quarters at its Shenzhen factory. It also said it had raised wages and shortened working hours.
