Japan based Nintendo has sold more than 4 million units of its hand-held 3DS gaming device in Japan. According japanese research company Enterbrain Nintendo 3DS a portable game console device which allow users to play 3D games with out requiring them to wear special glass, As Enterbrain reports it has reached 4 million units in Sales Since its launch 10 months ago.In comparison, Nintendo sold over 5 million units of the original DS in its first 13 months, but that included two Christmases.
Nintendo 3DS had a disappoint start, with few titles and a lot of software glitches, But it kick started with a new updates, popular and huge price cut had made the device such massive hit for Nintendo. Many believe that 3DS sales were also pushed by Holiday Shopping season as 500,000 out of 4 million were sold last week. In the U.S. Nintendo 3DS sales have almost tippled, with a hefty price cut in U.S. Furthermore Enterbrain has also stated that Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 were amongst popular Super Mario franchise, have sold more than 1 million units in Japan.
