If you’re operating a small or medium-sized business and getting a credit card payment facility the usual way is out of your league, the Intuit card reader seems like a viable fit. Verizon has started offering the Intuit GoPayment app and pocket-sized credit card reader in more than 2,300 Verizon Wireless retails stores. GoPayment supports Android devices, BlackBerry and of course the iPhone or iPad. According to Intuit, using the GoPayment app and credit card reader is not only an easy way of accepting credit card payments but it is also more affordable. All you need to do is get the app and the Intuit card reader, connect it to a supported device’s audio jack, swipe the credit card through the credit card reader or enter the details via the app and then you’re good to go. You’ll get the payment into your bank account within a couple of days.
To get the GoPayment credit card reader, you must be an existing Verizon Wireless customer. You can have the reader for free if you apply for a GoPayment account and a mail-in rebate for $29.97 purchase price. The mobile app is also free and basic services offered are also free of any monthly, transaction of cancellation fees. You’ll even get a 2.7% discount rate for every swiped transactions you make using GoPayment. There’s also a paid version which will cost you $12.95 monthly. But this will give you a low discount rate of 1.7% for swiped transactions.
