Its been not been a good year for RIM as Many retailers in Canada has started to offer RIM’s Playbook at a very low price with price drop as 50%, RIM had stated that it would be offering discount programs on the tablet during its last earnings call a week ago. Walmart Canada had the best price with sources saying with prices dropping by as much as 50 percent from the original MSRP. The online Canadian Best Buy, Future Shop and Staples sites have all discounted the PlayBook by $100, bringing the retail price to $399. Best Buy and Future Shop are also offering a $100 purchase credit or gift card for all PlayBooks. Customers who buy the PlayBook in Future Shop or Best Buy are getting a $100 gift card. Staples is just offering a $100 discount. Canadian Walmart which had the best price for $249.
