During a conference at the Seoul Digital Forum in South Korea this week, Microsoft Chief Executive Steve revealed that 500 million Windows 8 users will be using a device running the coming operating system by the end of 2013. If Ballmer’s prediction is to be believed, Windows 8 would have to gather a huge number of users in a bit more than a year. Windows 8 is expected to launch in October.
Ballmer had earlier mentioned that he expected Microsoft to ship 350 million copies in calendar year 2012. It’s been said that Windows 8 software aim to be one of the big players in the mobile software space, which is now primarily dominated by Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android software.
