Apple’s application iBook 2 launched last week which enables the users to view digital textbook.There were more than 350,000 textbooks downloaded within 3 days of the application launch. This suggest that there is a huge demand for learning on the ipad even though it may have not convinced everyone that the classroom is the best place for iOS slate. AllThingsD reported that the numbers were monitored by the proprietary monitoring system of Global Equities Research and it also reported that it appears that the downloads of the free iBooks Author tool is also successful.
iBook Author free e-book creation tool was made public on Thursday which is Mac-only and requires OS X Lion was downloaded almost 90000 since its launch.The app allows digital books to be created by dragging-&-dropping Word files, photos, video clips and Keynote presentations, though the resulting interactive titles can only be distributed via Apple’s own. The research firm reckons production using iBooks Author is around 80-percent less than for a print textbook, and highlights that the sales model iBookstore.
