Steve Jobs Gave Jonathan Ive Ultimate Powers

As Associated Press reports on Walter Isaacson’s forthcoming Steve Jobs biography addressing Jobs’ views on Android being a “stolen product”. AP has purchased a advance copy of the book, The official biography of the late Apple leader, Jobs created an environment where iconic design will continue to flourish, even after his death. Jony Ive, Apple’s head of product design Steve Jobs’ revealed  that Apple design chief Jony Ive has nearly complete freedom to do as he sees fit, an organisational structure purposely set up by Jobs. In talking with author Walter Isaacson for the book, Jobs revealed that he viewed Ive as his “spiritual partner” at Apple.

 

He called Jonathan Ive, Apple’s design chief, his “spiritual partner” at Apple. He told Isaacson that Ive had “more operation power” at Apple than anyone besides Jobs himself – that there’s no one at the company who can tell Ive what to do. That, says Jobs, is “the way I set it up.”
