Earthquake Warning System in iOS 5 for Japanese Users

quakewarning-500x195

A remarkable new feature has been added to  Apple’s iOS 5 for Japanese users. If you could callback, Japan had suffered tremendous earthquake and also has one of the most advanced Earthquake detection systems known to exist. Time magazine had nothing but high regards for their warning system. Japan has the most advanced earthquake early-warning system in the world. A nationwide online system launched in 2007, it detects tremors, calculates an earthquake’s epicenter and sends out brief warnings from its 1,000-plus seismographs scattered throughout the country, one of the most earthquake-prone nations on the planet.

I think this is a extraordinary feature that includes a feature for Japanese users which if turned on will alert them of an impending Earthquake in their area. This new feature may allow the people of Japan to be warned early enough to get out of harms way and ultimately save lives. It is also believed that most phones sold in Japan have some way to warn the user of Earthquakes.
