South Korean smartphone maker LG has confirmed that Optimus L5 will be available in the UK, Germany and France this month, followed by markets in CIS, Middle East and Asia, and, finally, Central America and South America.Announced at Mobile World Congress back in February, the Optimus L5 has a 4-inch HVGA touchscreen, 800MHz processor and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. The smartphone will be launched on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is one of the first phones to feature LG’s new User Experience with QuickMemo TM.

“The LG Optimus L5 is a very balanced smartphone that offers a great combination of design, display, performance, battery life and price that many will find very attractive,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “This device, along with other products in our L-Series portfolio, will especially appeal to fashion forward users everywhere.”

This allows consumers to dot down notes or memos directly on the screen no matter what feature or homescreen they are currently running.  The device comes packed with intuitive and intelligent features such as dual SIM capabilities (in Asia, CIS, Middle East, Central and South America only) and NFC “Tag & Play” (in Europe and North America) for mobile commerce and peer-to-peer sharing.
