An Asus spokesperson has revealed that Transformer Pad 300 will start shipping in the U.S. On April 22. Despite pre-order prices are currently around the $380 the spokesperson was unable to confirm the pricing. The device features a 10.1-inch screen, powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, supported by 1GB of RAM and will have 16GB of storage. Unlike the Asus Prime which comes encased in aluminum the new Asus Transformer Pad 300 will be fitted with a plastic case.
The Transformer Pad 300 provides up to 10 hours of battery life, which can be increased to 15 hours with an extra battery in an optional keyboard dock. The dock enables the tablet a entirely functional laptop. The display has a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. The mobile connectivity options with the tablet include Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE. The tablet has a 1.2-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera.Transformer Pad 300 will run Google’s latest Android 4.0 operating system, code-named Ice Cream Sandwich.
