Gmail Team has rolled out an update for its Gmail Web App for Chrome which fully functions its HTML 5 offline main storage. The latest update allows users to  set it to store 7, 14 or 31 days of past email offline. Email work done offline – on an airplane, for example – is synced next time you connect. Furthermore this update stores attachments for offline use, enables Gmail keyboard shortcuts offline, improves performance and fixes bugs. The Gmail offline app is available in the Chrome Web Store.

  • Improved attachments: All attachments are now downloaded and available for offline use
  • Keyboard shortcuts support: If you have keyboard shortcuts enabled in Gmail, your setting will transfer over to the Gmail offline app. If you’re not sure what you can do with keyboard shortcuts, try pressing ‘?’ next time you’re using Gmail or Gmail offline.
  • Numerous performance enhancements: Messages and attachments now download at a faster rate and some bugs have been fixed.
