Apple’s Next Generation iPad 3 To Arrive in 3-4 months

Apple next generation iPad 3 is expected to hit the stores in 3 to 4 months according to Digitimes, which mean we should be able to expect the iPad 3 during March or April release. Digitimes reported “OEM production of iPad 2 will remain high at 14-15 million units in the fourth quarter of 2011 but decline to 4-5 million units in the first quarter of 2012, paving the way for the launch of the new iPads, the sources noted.” “Meanwhile, Foxconn Electronics will begin to produce the next-generation iPads in January and to ramp up the production volume starting February,” Digitimes added. What Can we expect from iPad 3? We could expect a a high-resolution Retina display weighing in at 2048 x 1536 display – double the pixel count in each axis compared to the current iPad’s 1024 x 768 screen. Digitimes stated “Production of the new iPads is expected to reach 9.5-9.8 million units in the first quarter of 2012, estimated sources in the supply chain. Sales of iPad products totaled 25.06 million in the first three quarters of 2011 and are likely to reach 40 million units for all of 2011, the sources estimated.”
