On Wednesday Samsung Electronics Co stated that it had filed another lawsuit against Apple Inc in South Korea. After a series of legal clashes between the companies in Germany, Australia and Netherlands the new lawsuit would increase the tension between the companies as they both compete to dominate in the mobile device market.
Samsung claims in suit filed on Seoul court that Apple infringed on three of its utility patents. It involves procedure of displaying data, the user interface, and short text messages. Since Apple fired its first salvo in April claiming that Samsung copied its iPhone and iPad models there have been more than 30 cases in 10 different companies between the firms. Samsung counter-sued, saying Apple infringed on its patents and failed to pay royalties. Apple has other patent battles with smart phone manufacturers that use Android platform, the fastest growing mobile operating system which is used by Samsung, Motorola Mobility Holdings and HTC Corp.
