Yahoo Inc newly appointed Chief Executive Scott Thompson will be taking a rich pay package for taking on the troubled company. Yahoo Chief Executive Thompson is eligible for up to $26 million this year which includes salary, stocks and bonuses. Mr.Thompson previously served as President of Paypal. He will try to pull of the kind of turnaround promised by the last Yahoo CEO, Carol Bartz, who was fired by phone in September.
Scott Thompson will get a basic salary of $1 million for the year 2012, Mr.Thompson has been assured a bonus of minimum $1 million and could high as $2 million if he reaches his performance targets. Thompson will get a grant for Yahoo Shares this year valued at $11 million plus additional $5 million grant as a one-time hiring perk. Furthermore He will get a cash bonus of $1.5 million plus a grant of restricted stock valued at $6.5 million.
