Google Doodle Celebrates Diego Rivera’s 125th Birthday

Google Doodlers have been celebrating the artist’s 125th birthday, Which recently celebrated Mark Twain’s birthday and turned to 176 years old. it’s honor to the Mexican painter and communist icon Diego Rivera and who was known for his elaborate and politically charged murals, as well as his turbulent relationship with artist wife Frida Kahlo. The artist’s full name is Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez. He was born in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1886, but relocated to Paris in 1907 to study some of the great artists. After his return to Mexico in 1921, he became involved in a government sponsored program that had artists cover the walls of official institutions with murals. He died on Nov. 24, 1957; his murals can be seen in Mexico City, San Francisco, Detroit, and New York City.
