Cupertino based Apple Inc might be considering to unveil budget-priced MacBook Air to compete against the upcoming second wave of ultrabooks, according to a new report. According to Digitimes the firm might introduce a MacBook Air priced at $799 in the third quarter of this year — right in time for the back-to-school season. If these rumors are to be believed the MacBook Air could hit shelves with a price cheaper than its other models.
The Macbook Air could come up with a 11-inch 64GB MacBook Air ($999), 11-inch 128GB version ($1,199) and 13-inch 128GB model ($1,299). The line also features a 256GB version that is priced at $1,599. Cupertino company’s target is clear: second-gen ultrabooks running Ivy Bridge processors from names like ASUS, Acer, Lenovo and Sony. Will you purchase a $799 MacBook Air if the rumors are true?
