Asus announced the PadFone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Asus pledged the hybrid device would begin shipping in April. ASUS on Thursday revealed that pre-orders will begin on Friday and the device will launch on April 20th in Taiwan. The PadFone features a 4-3-inch Android 4.0-powered smartphone docked inside a 10-inch tablet. The handset portion of the device features a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, an Adreno 225 graphics processor and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Docking the smartphone inside the tablet brings the device a 10.1-inch display, a tablet UI and a new range of functionality.

In Taiwan the PadFone will cost about  NT$17,990 or about $610 here in the States. That price is for the PadFone only and does not include the stylus or the tablet section. The PadFone also has the unusual capability to dock inside a tablet shell that will bring in a 10.1-inch display, a tablet UI and a new range of functionality. You can  pre-order starting tomorrow in Taiwan with official availability date of April 20. Let us know your thoughts on comments.

    I’d love to get one.
It looks like no one can get precise on the pricing. You say it will be sold without the stylus and the tablet and others say it will be sold with stylus and tablet.
I must say, to sell this device without the tablet/stylus combo would not find the intended audience.
