Google has just released the new update that lets users to access Google Documents offline while traveling or going on vacation. As for now Google has only been working on offline mode compatible for Android version but other versions would be out soon.
“There may be times when you don’t have an Internet connection on your Android device, but you still want access to a file you’ve saved in Google Docs,” said software engineer Freeman Liu. ”Now you can select any file in Google Docs to make it available offline. So, regardless of whether you’re connected to the internet, you’re always connected to those files.”
The offline mode Google Doc is optimized for Tablet version. When the Android device finds a WiFi or 3G connection , it automatically updates the offline files, Liu revealed, adding that the types of files supported offline include; Google documents, presentations and spreadsheets. That’s not only use of updating the Google Doc app on your device. It has also improved support for tablets such as the HTC flyer and the Samsung Galaxy Tabs as the Document will appear with high-resolution and with new gesture that enables you to flip the pages by swiping left or right which is also similar to iOS version. It also has a slider at the bottom of the screen and the image could now be swiped side by side.
